New MMORPG Pantheon is great hope for PvE fans – Promises 15 “two hour” dungeons at release

Pantheon Kampf Skills

The MMORPG Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is one of the high hopes for many PvE fans. It promises a focus on group content, huge bosses, and aims to bring back the feel of old MMORPGs like EverQuest. In a new video, the developers talked about dungeons for almost an hour.

What is special about the dungeons? Pantheon is to be released directly with 15 dungeons. The number may go up or down slightly by the final release, but the developers’ goal is 15.

For the dungeons, however, you shouldn’t register in an interface and then be able to play through them with a random group in a few minutes. Instead, the game leans more towards “old school” games, where dungeons are special and challenging:

  • The game is structured in such a way that you should plan at least two to three hours of play time for great success. This also applies to dungeons. Some should be a little longer or a little shorter and the walking distance to the instances also plays a role, but everything should be based around this time.
  • There should be entry requirements, such as certain keys for the dungeons. In addition, there should be requirements within the dungeons, such as a certain skill when climbing, otherwise you won’t get any further.
  • The dungeons should basically have a beginning and an end, but the path between them should offer different possibilities. This includes secrets that can be discovered but also overlooked.
  • In a dungeon you can reach certain “safe spots”. There you can then summon new players into the dungeon if necessary. However, the summoned player must have been to this spot before.
  • There should be no “Easy Mode”. Dungeons are supposed to be hard and you have to think carefully about which groups you pull and how you keep opponents in CC.

Pantheon is the hope for PvE fans

What makes Pantheon so special? In general, the new MMORPG focuses on PvE. It already won over a crowdfunding campaign in 2014. The core features of the game are:

  • There will be 14 different classes at launch.
  • Discovery should play a major role in the game world and dungeons.
  • There will be a climbing system with which you can also explore the world vertically.
  • You will need fellow players for most of the content and you cannot experience everything alone.

Where is Pantheon right now? In December 2021, it was announced that 2022 would be spent preparing the game for an alpha and doing it in 2022 – but whether that will really happen seems questionable.

Because there hasn’t been much and above all coherent gameplay so far.
