Pokémon GO is six years old and that needs to be celebrated. The anniversary event will therefore start on July 6th. These new Pokemon are here.

San Francisco – On July 6th, the time has already come: Pokémon GO celebrates its sixth birthday. On July 6, 2016, players were able to download the app from San Francisco-based Niantic for the first time and catch Pokémon in the real world. A dream came true for many trainers. Even six years later, Pokémon GO can still enjoy a large fan base and wants to celebrate its own birthday. We’ll tell you what to expect at the Pokémon GO Anniversary Event.

Pokémon GO: 6th Anniversary Event – here we go

Then the event starts: Of course, the Pokémon GO anniversary event starts just in time for the app’s birthday. After all, congratulating and celebrating too soon brings bad luck. The anniversary event will therefore start on July 6, 2022 at 10 a.m. Trainers then have six days to catch, solve, and claim all of the event’s Pokémon, bonuses, and quests. On July 12, 2022, the anniversary event in Pokémon GO ends at 8 p.m.

  • Begin: Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 10 a.m
  • End: Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 8 p.m

However, the Pokémon GO Anniversary Event is not the only event in July 2022. Numerous other events in Pokémon GO in July 2022 are waiting for trainers. But these will mainly take place outside. As developer Niantic explained to us in an interview, Pokémon GO should return to its origins and be played primarily outside.

Pokémon GO: Birthday Anniversary Event – these rare and new Pokémon are there

There are these new Pokémon: There will be three new Pokémon in Pokémon GO for the anniversary event. However, these are only costumed Pokémon, so the monsters already exist in their normal form in the game from the San Francisco developer. These new Pokémon are available for the event in Pokémon GO:

  • Glutexo with party hat*
  • Charizard with party hat*
  • Pikachu with cake costume*

The special thing about the three new monsters: Glutexo and Charizard with a party hat can even be caught as Shiny. This is otherwise not possible in Pokémon GO, since evolutions cannot normally be caught as Shiny.

Timed Research with Rotom: There will also be an exclusive Timed Research for the Pokémon GO Anniversary Event. Trainers shouldn’t miss this, because the reward is a rare Pokémon: Rotom in the washing form. The monster has so far only been caught in a few exclusive events.

Hyper Bonus Pokemon: In addition to the new Pokémon, there are also two other Pokémon as “hyper bonuses”. One is the Fire Pokémon Grillmak and one is the Psycho-Pokémon Unown E. The latter will only appear in raids, while Grillmak can also be found in the wild.

Other bonuses for the event: For the Pokémon GO Anniversary Event, players can catch a lot of monsters. Including even some particularly rare specimens, such as Rotom.
