Ubisoft Forward in September – An Assassin’s Creed reveal is likely

Will the next Assassin's Creed game be revealed at September's Ubisoft Forward?

Will the next Assassin’s Creed game be revealed at September’s Ubisoft Forward?

In mid-June, Ubisoft gave us some franchise news during an Assassin’s Creed anniversary stream. But we hoped in vain for a reveal of the next part. Another event has been announced for September, in which the “Future of Assassin’s Creed” will be revealed. Of course, we now await the reveal of the next game there. It looks like that will happen during the next Ubisoft Forward.

Sexism issues at Ubisoft: The French Assassin’s Creed developer and publisher has been accused of a toxic corporate culture since July 2020. These include far-reaching sexism problems, misogyny and discrimination, which are said to be deeply rooted in the company. Although Ubisoft has already drawn conclusions, for example by exchanging management staff and openly commenting on the allegations, many employees feel that these measures are not sufficient within the company.

The signs point to an AC reveal at Ubisoft Forward

“Join us this September as we unveil the future of Assassin’s Creed during a special event.” – After that announcement, it sounded a bit like we might get a new Assassin’s Creed game shown during another anniversary stream in September. With the newly announced Ubisoft Forward, which will take place on September 10th, it should now be clear how much longer we will have to be patient.

Assassin’s Creed – Ubisoft announces another stream with anniversary stream

Ubisoft has announced a “Special Event”, but what exactly this event is was and is still a bit unclear. At least there was never a word about a second anniversary stream for the franchise. But even if there is one in September dedicated solely to Assassin’s Creed, the reveal is clearly tied to the September period. And that should very likely mean that Ubisoft Forward, taking place on September 10th, will serve as the platform for a big reveal.

The size of the reveal is of course another matter. Most likely we’ll get a little foretaste of the Forward with a trailer. A later Assassin’s Creed stream, which deals comprehensively with the series, would still be conceivable. After all, we’re not just waiting for a completely new AC game, but for several as well as updates to Valhalla.

And what about gamescom 2022? From August 24th to 28th, gamescom will also take place, in which Ubisoft will take part. There’s probably something AC Valhalla waiting for us there, but we shouldn’t hope for a new AC game since the future of Assassin’s Creed has been announced for September. With a bit of luck, we could still get a little teaser for the new Assassin’s Creed during the Opening Night Live show on August 23rd to get us excited about the reveal in September.

Which Assassin’s Creed could be shown?

But what kind of new Assassin’s Creed game are we talking about anyway? Can’t say for sure, but the most likely being Assassin’s Creed Rift, as the release period for this is rumored to be early 2023. Rift is said to focus on Basim, who we know from AC Valhalla. We have summarized everything you need to know about the title in an overview for you:

Even if it will probably only appear after AC Rift, there is also a possibility that the already confirmed Assassin’s Creed Infinity will be shown. It should not be a regular main part, but an online platform that should have several Assassin’s Creed levels with different settings and main characters. You can read more about this in the following overview:

There are two more speculated titles in the room: an Assassin’s Creed 1 remake and Assassin’s Creed Nexus. However, we don’t assume that either game will serve as a big reveal, since it would “only” be a remake and a VR title.

And as mentioned, we’re very likely to see Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which has nothing to do with the big reveal we’re hoping for. Here we are just waiting for the fourth and final DLC.

But what do you think? When will which Assassin’s Creed be shown?
