Gwent: Rogue Mage is a new single player expansion and is available now

CD Projekt Red today released Gwent: Rogue Mage, the first-ever single player expansion for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game.

What’s more, it’s a standalone title available via GOG and Steam for PC, Macs with the M1 chip and higher, iOS and Android.

Hundreds of years before Geralt

Rogue Mage takes place hundreds of years before Geralt’s adventures, at a time when the conjunction of the spheres gave birth to monsters. You follow in the footsteps of the magician Alzur and his companion Lily who want to create a living weapon to fight the monsters.

“Rogue Mage’s gameplay combines the best elements of roguelike, deck building and strategy games with the unique mechanics of Gwent card battles,” it says.

As Alzur, you fight your way across the land to defeat legendary monsters and collect their mutagan for experiments.

“Due to its large scale and single-player nature, Rogue Mage is sold separately from Gwent: The Witcher Card Game,” explains CD Projekt. “An internet connection and Gwent’s multiplayer client are not required to play – the expansion can be started fully offline at any time. Players can also use cross-saves, allowing them to transfer their progress across all supported platforms, if they are logged in with a GOG account.”
