Gentle reboot instead of direct continuation

According to internal sources, the new film was originally intended to bring back many of the characters from the first installment. However, due to the corona pandemic, this plan had to be adjusted over time. Envisaged people were not available. Stars who had been hired had to be released again.

The new Warcraft movie now looks set to be a smooth theatrical reboot for the franchise, with new characters taking center stage and a storyline that, while not going to ignore everything from the first film, isn’t slavish either should hold everything. Since all story details are under lock and key according to the sources, it is only clear that the adult Thrall will play a role in the reboot.
