Pokémon GO: Spotlight Hour Today with Machollo and Candies – Is It Worth It?

Today, July 12th, we’re having another Spotlight Hour in Pokémon GO. This time, the focus is on the Pokémon Machollo. We at MeinMMO show you when the event starts, what bonuses there are and whether it’s worth it for you.

What is this event? Spotlight Hour takes place every week on Tuesday evenings in Pokémon GO. During this hour, the focus is on one Pokémon at a time, which then appears more often than its peers.

Last week’s first Spotlight session of July revolved around the Pokémon Ledyba and brought with it an XP bonus. This week, July 12, the focus is on the Pokémon Machollo, and you’ll get more candies for catching the pocket monsters.

Spotlight Hour with Machollo – Start, Bonuses & Shiny

When does spotlight hour start? As you are used to, the limelight hour starts today at 18:00 German time. From this point, Machollo will appear more frequently for 60 minutes until the event ends again at 7:00 p.m.

What bonuses are there? In Machollo Hour, you get twice the amount of catch candies. This bonus does not only apply to Machollo himself, but to all Pokémon that you can catch within these hours. So you can also deal with raids within the 60 minutes to pick up the double candies here.

The Meltan from the Wunderbox is also a welcome candidate for this bonus.

Is there Machollo as Shiny? Yes, Shiny Machollo has been available in Pokémon GO for quite some time. His two developments are also available as shinys in the game. Usually you need a lot of luck to find it.

Is the spotlight hour with Machollo worth it?

Machollo is so strong: Machollo itself is not one of the strongest Pokemon in the game. However, if you develop it further, you will receive Machamp in the second development. Machamp is one of the strongest combat attackers in the game and is suitable for both PvE and PvP in your team.

Other strong combat attackers, such as Lucario or Meistagrif, are also much harder to get. If you are still missing a fighter in your team, you should definitely take the lesson with you.

Who is Limelight Hour for? If you still lack a strong fighting Pokémon in your squad, then the spotlight hour is definitely worth it for you. If you are already taken care of, it is more for players who want to challenge their shiny luck.

But the candy bonus that applies to all Pokémon in these 60 minutes is also interesting. So you can also use it as a raid hour and thus collect more candies for the coveted legendary Pokémon when you no longer need Machollo.

We will tell you which bosses you can meet in these raids in July in a separate article on the raid hours in July.
