Bloodborne: Is a remaster coming? Well-known insider speaks plain language
Rumors keep circulating that the acclaimed From-Software game Bloodborne (part of the genre term “Soulsborne”) could get a remaster or even a sequel. But now renowned insider Jason Schreier has dashed those hopes.
The latest Soulsborne game, Elden Ring, has been a hit lately, enjoying rave reviews and fantastic sales. But that doesn’t matter to some fans of the game company, because they want one thing above all: Bloodborne. The “Victorian Dark Souls” with combo weapons, gunpowder guns and Cthulhu atmosphere is simply unique. Accordingly, fans long for a sequel or at least a remaster version. For example, enthusiastic artists reveal how beautiful a Bloodborne could look with modern technology. And it wasn’t until 2021 that the rumor mill was churning again, with multiple sources confirming work on the sequel and remaster. A well-known insider now explicitly refutes these reports.
More on the subject: Why we’d rather have a Bloodborne sequel than Elden Ring
Jason Schreier says: There is currently no Bloodborne remake in the works
The well-known and respected investigative journalist with excellent connections to the video game industry has a history of providing unique insights into the development of games such as Dragon Age 4, Cyberpunk 2077 and Warcraft 3 Reforged. And his revelations always come true over time. His statement about a Bloodborne remaster is correspondingly hard:
For true Bloodborne fans: This fan item should not be missing on any shelf!
When asked when there will be a leak from him for the remaster, there is only one dry answer: “I can’t leak what doesn’t exist.” Uff. This pierces the heart of Bloodborne fans. Maybe they’re not working on a remaster but a remake? Or a sequel? One can dream, but keep your expectations low.
Do you agree with Schreier’s assertion? Were you one of those people who dearly want a revamped remaster of Bloodborne (buy now €69.99) wanted? Or can the rejuvenation stay stolen because you want a sequel full of new content instead? Tell us your impressions in the comments!
