On September 12, 2022, the 74th Emmy Awards will be presented, honoring outstanding achievements in film and television. The nominations were already announced on the night of July 13, 2022 and include the League of Legends series Arcane and the most successful Netflix series to date: Squid Game.

Once a year, not only the Oscars, the Tony Award or the Grammy, but also the Emmy, which acts primarily as a major television award. In 2022, this award will be held on September 12th. In the now more than 90 categories in which the prizes of the 74th Emmy Awards are presented, gamer fans and animation film nerds can keep their fingers crossed this time mainly for a Netflix series that draws its inspiration from a well-known gaming universe: arcane! The series for the successful MOBA League of Legends from Riot Games has not only captivated die-hard fans with its idiosyncratic and fascinating style.

So keep your fingers crossed on September 12, 2022 when Arcane takes on in the Outstanding Animated Program category against established shows like Rick and Morty, Bob’s Burgers and the Simpsons, and in the Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (Half -Hour) And Animation” takes on Barry, Cobra Kai, Ted Lasso and more.

Squid Game nominated as the first non-English language show in “Drama Series”.

Because Squid Game was produced for the US market and commissioned by Netflix, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk allowed the series to be nominated for Emmys – and it got them in spades. In the categories “Drama Series” as well as “Lead Actor in a Drama Series”, “Supporting Actress in a Drama Series” and “Supporting Actor in a Drama Series” there are sometimes several nominations.
