New World: This emote deals damage and can even kill!
The New World emotes are actually designed to make your character livelier, giving them special options to perform gestures with. But that one of them can do damage and even kill is a funny surprise.
It’s really no longer a secret that things don’t always work as they should in New World. Since the release in September 2021, there have always been crazy and frustrating bugs, lucrative exploits and other problems. It’s refreshing when a small absurdity is actually intended and causes a lot of laughter in the community. Because the developers have equipped an emote with damage potential. And which one will it be? The deadly… finger guns!

Finger gun emote in New World can deal damage
On the New World subreddit, user JustTheBlips shared a sample video of the finger guns in action. The emote fires a burst of five “shots” that damage and even stagger a player. It is emphasized that this emote – as small as the damage may be – can even kill. By the way, if you bite the virtual grass with this emote, the game says that fists as a weapon were the cause.
No threat to the balance in New World
Before anyone goes to the barricades and thinks that the finger gun emote can provide dubious techniques, they can calm down quickly: In the video shown, the player hit has over 7,000 life points – and only suffers a handful per “shot” of the emote damage points. If someone can really take you down with it, they can do it with any other source of damage in New World. So see the whole thing more as an “Execute” action, with which you can finish off a player in a special way.

Do you know other games that have such a fun easter egg hidden in emotes? We spontaneously only think of that Heavy’s finger pistol taunt from Team Fortress 2 a.
