Pokémon trading cards are apparently getting their own reality TV show
Good news for Pokémon fans: A reality TV show is apparently to be created around the trading card game. At least that is what a casting call from the USA suggests. As a result, people are being sought who can deal with the Pokémon trading cards and tell a story related to it. The whole thing is supposed to be an unscripted series and could be quite exciting.
Pokémon fans get a chance to appear on a reality TV show
What’s the matter? It seems that the Pokémon Company is working on a new series centered around the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). At least one show is currently looking for people to play the Pokémon TCG.
Such people are wanted: The official casting call states that “energetic candidates” of all ages are primarily sought. Apparently, the show could involve their families as well, and people need to live in or nearby Los Angeles.

But it doesn’t matter if they’re just trying to learn how to play with Pokémon trading cards, for example, or if they’re already competitive players. Another example is people who use the card game to keep in touch with loved ones, for example. But it’s probably all about how a Pokémon TCG expert could help the people who are cast.
What we can expect: The request sounds a lot like a more or less unscripted TV format in the style of well-known reality shows. The combination with Pokémon experts suggests that people could be put into some sort of Pokémon boot camp, or at least get loads of tips and training.
It would also be conceivable, for example, for different teams to compete against each other at the end. According to the Vice President of Pokémon TCG, the stories of the fans should be in the spotlight (via: IGN).

Unfortunately, little information so far: At the moment, however, it is actually only certain that this casting call exists. It remains to be seen how exactly the format will ultimately be structured. We also don’t yet know how and when the resulting show will air.
