The Metal Gear Solid games, temporarily removed from the digital stores, are set to return.

In November of last year, Konami removed some games from the Metal Gear Solid series from the digital stores because they first had to renew some licenses for used archive material.

For example, the removal affected the HD editions of Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater on PlayStation 3.

On Xbox 360, Metal Gear Solid HD Edition: 2 & 3 has been removed from the Microsoft Store.

To mark the series’ 35th anniversary today, fans were let know that preparations for return of the currently missing Metal Gear Solid games are already underway.

It is not known exactly when the games will be available again in their store. A look at the Microsoft Store this afternoon showed no purchase option for Metal Gear Solid HD Edition: 2 & 3.
