Youtube's new exclusive deal: Streamer Myth leaves Twitch

The hunt for talent continues: Youtube has snagged another big Twitch streamer. Popular streamer Myth has signed an exclusive deal with Youtube.

Youtube continues to diligently round up Twitch streamers. Now the video platform has poached the next big streamer from Twitch: The popular streamer Myth has signed an exclusive contract with the platform and will henceforth stream exclusively on YouTube. So, with Ali “Myth” Kabbani, another big creator jumped off the Twitch bandwagon. The 23-year-old’s contract was announced in a short video posted on Twitter and youtube has been uploaded.

As The Verge reported, Myth’s deal was struck using the same talent agency that brokered the exclusive deals for streamers DrLupo and TimTheTatman. For those familiar with the streaming segment, it comes as no surprise that big streamer names continue to leave the Twitch platform for YouTube. Only in April revealed a Bloomberg report a number of approaches by Twitch to change how creators and streamers are paid. For example, consideration was given to reducing the payment of the top streamers and establishing different levels of partnership that could offer additional advantages or restrictions.

Myth intends to stream and post produced videos on its YouTube channel. He started the YouTube channel back in 2013. Myth’s popularity is based on his past as a Fortnite streamer (start: 2017). He later played Fortnite professionally for the esports team TSM. He finally left the team last year and resumed his streams on Twitch. In his total six years on Twitch, he was able to generate 7.4 million followers, while his YouTube channel grew to 4.55 million subscribers.
