New construction site in front of Sanctuary – Next map update in the starting blocks

There’s a lot going on in Fortnite. On July 12th, players found the first hints of new changes to the map. There will probably be a skate park soon.

Cary – Fortnite is now in its third season. Some time ago, various rumors about a skate mechanism that could be built into the popular shooter made the rounds. With the change on the map, developer Epic Games obviously wants to tease something new. With today’s update, a few exciting locations have already been added to the map. The update is available in all versions of Fortnite, from PC to PS5 to Nintendo Switch.

Why is? The Twitter account “FNAssist – News & Leaks” is known for announcing new rumours, leaks and updates in the game. The latest tweet on the account provides information about what could change now. With the latest update from July 12th, something on the Fortnite map has apparently changed again.

The changes appear to be effective immediately and you can already discover them in Fortnite. Apparently there are a few new locations in the east of the game world, which seem to be still under construction. On a floating platform there are boxes, tools, lots of building material and a few cranes. There are also other objects in the water around the platforms.

What do the changes mean? Developer Epic Games always likes to keep a low profile with new developments in Fortnite in order to maintain a certain element of surprise. In this case, however, the new locations look suspiciously like some kind of skate park. That would also make sense, after all, Fortnite dataminers recently found a new movement mechanic in the game’s code. So players may soon get the chance to grab skateboards to move around the map.

When is the update coming? Along with the changes to the map, it won’t be long before the final reveal of what’s behind the supposed skate park. So far, however, it is not yet clear when and how long fans will have to wait for the big update. Rumors are also currently circulating about an update on new cosmetic weapon pendants in Fortnite. So it’s quite possible that the popular shooter will soon see some big changes.
