PlayStation Stars will reward your loyalty with future rewards

With PlayStation Stars, Sony announced a new loyalty program for PlayStation players this afternoon.

It should be launched “in the course of the year” and participation is free of charge.

How does PlayStation Stars work?

If you become a member for free, you can get rewards for various campaigns and activities.

An example is the “Monthly Check-In” campaign, where you just have to play any game to get a reward. Other campaigns require you to win tournaments or unlock certain trophies.

“All members of PlayStation Stars have the opportunity to collect loyalty points,” it says. “Points can be redeemed from a catalog which may include PSN credit and select PlayStation Store products. As an added benefit, PlayStation Plus members who have signed up for PlayStation Stars will automatically receive points for PlayStation Store purchases.”

A new type of reward is also being introduced with the “digital collector’s items” (not NFTs, as Sony emphasizes). Sony explains it as follows: “These are digital representations of things that PlayStation fans love, including figurines of popular and iconic characters from games and other entertainment formats, as well as cherished devices that reflect Sony’s history of innovation. There will always be a new collector’s item give you something to collect, an extremely rare collector’s item you’re dying to have, or a surprise item you can collect just for fun.”
