Will Pokémon GO get Mega Simsala soon? A new find prompts a discussion among the trainers
In Pokémon GO, a new find among the trainers is causing a lot of conversation. We at MeinMMO have looked at exactly which monster was discovered and show you the reactions of the players.
What is this find? The Pokéminers, a group of dataminers, periodically scan the Pokémon GO game code. They then make their finds publicly available to other players.
In their current search, the Pokéminers have come across a new Pokémon, which is causing a lot of conversation in the community. We explain why.
This new Pokemon has been found
As you can see from the current reddit post by user martycochrane, the Pokéminers have discovered a new mega development in addition to a sticker of the ultra beast Masskito, which is celebrating its release at the GO Fest in Seattle. So the first data about Mega Simsala was stored in the game.
While finds of Pokémon, such as the new legendary Galar Pokémon, usually lead to a lot of anticipation among trainers on social networks, the Psychic Pokémon Mega Simsala, on the other hand, provides a lot of conversation.
Coaches have different opinions about the find
Desire for another Mega: If you look at the comments on Twitter and reddit about the new Pokéminers find, you will see that opinions are sometimes very different. The reason for this is a previous find from the beginning of July 2022.
In addition to the costumed Pokémon that could be found at the anniversary event, the Pokéminers also encountered Mega Scizor. Some would like the Bug and Steel Pokémon to be in the game first, so they’re hoping for a release soon.
Alternatively, they would enjoy other Megas, such as Mega Mewtwo. But the coaches don’t necessarily agree on that either. So you can in the comments on reddit read the following:

But Simsala could just be there for whenever in the future. That doesn’t necessarily mean soon. I personally would like to see another fighting Mega like Meditalis, preferably after Scizor.”
- Jifjafjoef: “Bruh, Meditalis also has a Mega. How many battle megas do we have to go through before we get to Lucario? Would Meditalis be the last?”
- dylan2451: “The July 1st asset update (which included Party Hat Charmander and Cupcake Pikachu) also had Mega Scizor, so I still think that one might come first.”
- Teban: “An unpopular opinion that probably won’t come true, but if I were a Niantic planner, I’d give the ‘big’ Megas (Mewtwo X/Y, Lucario, Metagross, Garchomp, etc.) a row at regular intervals of fillers in between instead of keeping them all for the end. 3-5 years without a single exciting Mega is a quick way to kill the hype for the feature.”
- duel_wielding_rouge: “I was expecting this year’s GO Fest or Hyper Bonus to give us one of the Mega Mewtwo.”
“I’m Ready for Mega Simsala”
However, not all Trainers would be upset if Mega Simsala entered the battlefield first. This is how the user GZBZM on reddit notes that it has the fourth highest attack of any Pokémon, including unreleased specimens like Mega Mewtwo.
This is also confirmed by the current figures gamepress. With a strong attack and a decent moveset, Mega Simsala could rank among the 10 best psycho attackers in Pokémon GO after its release.

When is Mega Simsala coming? Since the data is not official information, but finds from the game’s source code, Niantic can change this data at any time or even decide against a release.
