Wordle: Digital puzzle phenomenon becomes a board game

Only one Wordle puzzle per day. You no longer have this problem with Wordle’s official board game. The game’s owner is collaborating with Hasbro for the project, which is due out in a few months.

Under the name “Wordle: The Party Game” you can buy the popular online game for 20 dollars. The price in euros, if there will be one, is not yet known, but it shouldn’t deviate much from it.

That should be the case in October. CNN reports that this is Hasbro’s fastest project it has ever brought to market. The company should need less than a year for development, production and publication.

Well, at least there was a template here that was adopted pretty much exactly as you know it from the online game. Nevertheless, even that cannot speed up some processes, such as the production of the physical game materials.

This is how the guessing fun at the table works

How does the game work on the board? Board and game, both great five letter words. Actually, that brings us to the gameplay. You try to guess a five letter word in six tries.

The players take turns, because one always has to take on the role of host. He knows the word he is looking for and uses transparent red, yellow and green tiles to give clues to the guessers.

You can play a blitz round that will make you sweat with additional conditions, or a team version where two people share a game board. I also see great potential for new word expansions on specific topics, as is common in games like this.

Included in the package are dry-erase boards, markers, and partitions that you can set up between opposing players. Otherwise someone will end up cheating.
