WoW Dragonflight: gender designation removed and pronouns probably in planning

WoW Dragonflight: gender designation removed and pronouns probably planned (2)

from Sebastian Glanzer
Blizzard is a company that is very committed to inclusion. The developers also want to reflect this in their online role-playing game World of Warcraft. Changes have already been made with the upcoming Dragonflight expansion that will remove the designations “male” and “female” and may also implement the options for pronouns and changing the voice.

With WoW Shadowlands, the first transgender NPC (Pelagos) was officially introduced in Blizzard’s online role-playing game. Even then, it was assumed that pronouns for character creation would also be introduced to match. In fact, the Shadowlands alpha game files already have Found options for salutations “they, them” etc.

This feature didn’t make it to Shadowlands, but it’s very likely to come with WoW (buy now ) Dragonflight to be implemented. Because the gender designations were already removed in the Alpha of Dragonflight. Male and female are replaced by body 1 and body 2.

Also the voice changeable?

As this is a text-only change that can be seen in a total of two menus throughout the game, it is a very minor but important change that is consistent with the developers’ views on inclusivity.

Aside from the body types and the pronouns, there is another suitable change in the game files, of which it is not yet known whether this will be implemented and how it will be implemented in the game.
