WoW Dragonflight: New max level 70 – How long is the campaign?
With Dragonlfight, World of Warcraft gets its 9th expansion and again 10 levels that you have to climb up to the new endgame. MeinMMO reveals how long you will need to do this.
How long does it take to reach level 70: MeinMMO editor Benedict Grothaus was able to test the current Alpha of Dragonflight in advance together with Marylin Marx from GameStar. However, we only had one area available and we played from level 65-68.
For the 3 stages we needed roughly 5 hours. From playing we can therefore deduce that the path to level 70 will take around 15-20 hours. However, this depends on a few factors, such as:
- Are you traveling in a group? There were always two of us.
- Do you read the quest texts in detail? We skipped most of them.
- Which class do you play? With 2 DPS callers it goes quite quickly.
- How many other players are out fighting with you for quest mobs? It was empty for us.
- Do you do dungeons on the side? No instances were open to us in the test.
- How good are you at Dragon Flight, the new feature of Dragonflight? Experienced riders can reach distant places faster.

If you are particularly quick, you will probably even be able to finish in 10 hours. If you prefer to take your time or master the dungeons along the way, it can take longer. you find Mary’s assessment of Dragonflight on the GameStar.
How much story is in Dragonflight? The pure campaign quests accounted for about a quarter to a third of the tasks in our test. We were already through with the Azure Mountains story before hitting level 68 and had 4 quest hubs left.
More Than Just the Campaign – The Content of Dragonflight
How much is in the new addon? Once you reach level 70, there are tons of other activities to choose from – “endless,” as Product Director Pat Dawson said in the interview. We’ve spotted 8 dungeons and one raid so far, but haven’t been able to test them all yet.
In addition to the dragon riding as a new feature, the Callers of the Drakthyr come into play as a new class. MeinMMO editor Benedict Grothaus played the Rufer for 7 hours and is enthusiastic about the new class.

However, Dragonflight wants to do without so-called “borrowed power”. Instead, the expansion relies on traditional content like talent trees, which should return for everyone. You can find everything about the contents of Dragonflight in our collectible article.
When does Dragon Flight start? The release of the new extension is scheduled for 2022. An exact date is still pending, but the end of November is hotly debated among many fans. That would also coincide with the sale for the Christmas business.
