In Warzone, the Radar Jammer has been the subject of a lot of criticism lately. Now it has been nerfed by the developer. But that doesn’t go far enough for many.

Santa Monica, California – With long-lasting titles like Call of Duty: Warzone or Fortnite, it is particularly important that they offer a fair and balanced gaming experience for all players. In this respect, there are regular patches in the life cycle of new maps, weapons and items to balance the game. The latest update from 13.07. for Call of Duty: Warzone from publisher Activision now brings a change intended to make life easier for players on Fortune’s Keep and Rebirth Island.

Warzone: New update from 13.07. brings long-awaited nerf

What happened? On July 13th, Raven Software, the development studio behind Call of Duty: Warzone, posted a tweet announcing that they had released a mini-update for Warzone. The patch has reduced the radius of the radar jammer by about 20% for the smaller maps Fortune’s Keep and Rebirth Island. Also, the development team intends to continue listening to fan feedback to make additional adjustments if needed.

What does the update bring to the players? So far, the Radar Jammer on the maps Fortune’s Keep and Rebirth Island has covered enormously large parts of the maps with its radius when activated and blocked the killstreaks in this area, and also made the MiniMap almost useless.

The radius is the biggest problem, because it was apparently not adapted to the smaller maps and made the item far too powerful and annoying there. In addition, the Jammer is available frequently, causing players to take turns spamming it, making matches on the two small maps a nightmare for many.

How is the community reacting? The community behind Call of Duty: Warzone is pleased that their feedback is being heard by the development team and translated into updates. However, some players find the Radar Jammer completely redundant due to overuse and wish it were removed from the game altogether, or at least its item drop rate reduced. In addition, various other update and change requests from the fans are collected under the tweet.

  • Styli (@STYLERZ97) writes: “We appreciate your commitment to giving us new content and lootable items. But the Radar Jammer is one of those things that doesn’t add any benefit to the gameplay at all.

    It was much better without.”
  • Gustavo Maia (@gustavou00) replies, “Please make it so he doesn’t interfere with the minimap, just blocks killstreaks. I keep dying because I can’t see where the next circle is going and where it starts or ends. A pretty stupid death because of the annoying Radar Jammer”

Warzone: what about further updates?

The nerf was a long time coming: The Radar Jammer came into play in Warzone Season 3 and is by no means very popular with all players. But if the community continues to take offense, developer Raven Software may even remove the item from the game altogether. The fact that the developer also always undoes changes was shown when the “Bloom” mechanic found its way into Warzone and was removed from Warzone after a great outcry from the fans.

When is the next big update coming? The next big update for Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 should come at the end of July. So far, not much is known about what developer Raven Software will do for the fans. In addition, there are of course always regular smaller patches that adapt the meta of the shooter. Just last week, the strongest weapons in the game were changed in Warzone with an update. So you should keep an eye on our page regularly if you want to stay up to date.
