New MMORPG based on a Netflix series focuses on action-packed battles against zombies that only appear at night

Kingdom: The Blood is a new MMORPG currently in development. It is based on the Netflix series “Kingdom” and offers action-packed, bloody zombie gameplay. The developers show a first video.

2021 saw the release of the first trailer announcing the MMORPG Kingdom: The Blood. Now, for the first time, developers Action Square are showing what the gameplay looks like. However, they call the video a “work in progress”.

The video first shows a PvP fight in which a samurai and an ax man beat each other up. Realistic looking blood squirts with every hit. Then the samurai meets numerous zombies in a burning street, whose heads he cuts off with quick cuts.

It continues with even more zombies and even more PvP. At the end of the trailer you can see excerpts from the world in which Kingdom: The Blood takes place.

Manual combat, no auto-play

The developers come out as fans of Souls-like games like Dark Souls and Elden Ring. They want to integrate elements of these games into their MMORPG in the future.

What other content does the game offer?

• The zombies only come out at night when temperatures are low.
• There are only three attacks in combat: Basic Attack, Special Attack, and Counter. But you can combine the attacks with each other.
• The user interface should be kept as simple as possible so that it can also be played well on mobile phone displays.
• The story currently consists of 10 chapters, each divided into 4 sections. This covers seasons 1 and 2 of the series.
• There are different characters, but they all carry a fixed weapon.
• Zombies react to the smell of blood. If a player stands next to the dead enemy for too long after a fight, zombies could come running.

Who is the game suitable for? The MMORPG is certainly appealing to fans of the Kingdom series. But even without having seen the series, the game could be exciting. It’s generally aimed at zombie fans who like to experience action-packed combat and don’t mind seeing blood on their screen.

Fans of MMORPGs who need a little variety in the setting are also in good hands in Kingdom: The Blood. The MMO offers something completely different than the recurring fantasy settings.

When will Kingdom: The Blood be released? There is still no time window in which the game should appear. Very likely not in 2022.
