Price reduction through the back door: Cashback for RX 6000 and RTX 3000 at Asus and Gigabyte

Last week, there were still high hopes that Nvidia in particular would use price cuts to reduce stocks of RTX 3000 graphics cards before the RTX 4000 launch. After all, there are drastic statements on the subject from a board partner who wishes to remain anonymous. But even if the hopes have not been fulfilled so far, there are at least discounts through the back door. Asus and Gigabyte are currently offering cashback promotions.

Asus: Radeon cashback up to 250 euros

This is how Asus currently advertises a cashback promotion in cooperation with AMD. Until mid-August there are cashback discounts in the categories of graphics cards, monitors, WLAN, gaming peripherals, cooling, power supplies and housing, which ultimately have the effect of reducing the purchase price. The biggest price reduction is for Radeon graphics cards, thanks to the cooperation with AMD, Nvidia graphics cards are left out. For example, there is 250 euros cashback for the Asus ROG Strix LC RX 6900 XT or the Asus TUF Gaming Radeon RX 6900 XT Top, as participating dealers alternates, CasekingCyberport, Notebooksbilliger.deGalaxus, Computeruniverse, Bora Computer, Asus E-Shop, Arlt, Digitalpulse, media market and Saturn been confirmed.

At Galaxus it costs Asus TUF Gaming Radeon RX 6900 XT Top currently 1,107 euros, due to the cashback the price should be 857 euros. The Asus ROG Strix LC RX 6900 XT is currently available not an attractive offer, not even with cashback. 200 euros cashback is still available for the ROG Strix LC Radeon RX 6900 XT OC and the TUF Gaming Radeon RX 6900 XT OC. There is 150 euros cashback for two Radeon RX 6800 XT cards, 120 euros for RX 6800, 60 to 100 euros for RX 6700 XT. There is also cashback of up to 200 euros for monitors and WLAN products, and up to 50 euros for the other categories. The complete list is there on an Asus special page. In total, you can apply for cashback of up to 840 euros, the campaign lasts until August 12th. In order to receive the cashback, you have to send the Asus code received with the purchase and the invoice to Asus using a participation form. “After the application has been checked and approved, the cashback will be transferred directly to the bank account,” says Asus.

Geforce Cashback at Gigabyte

Gigabyte has one similar cashback campaign in different categories, the big difference is that there are also mainboards and a cooperation with Nvidia for graphics cards. Stand as a trader alternatesAmazon, Bora, Casekingcomputeruniverse, Cyberport, Equippr, Galaxus, media market, Mindfactory, notebooks cheaper, Saturn and Xkom to choose from, you get a discount on one item per category. There is up to 250 euros in cashback for an expensive monitor or mainboard, with most products you get significantly less. It is similar with the graphics cards: Only the RTX 3090 Gaming OC has a significant discount of 100 euros, the card is available from Mindfactory currently for 1,478.99. For all other cards, there is only 20 euros cashback.

So far there are no new signs of a permanent and official price reduction by Nvidia. Corresponding reports from Asia have not yet been confirmed. So far, Nvidia neither in the US, nor any prices lowered in Germany – at least not in their own web shop. One thing remains striking: In the German Nvidia store the RTX 3090 Ti is still listed at 2,249 euros, but there is a reference to an “immediate discount of 350 euros at the checkout”. So it might be the case with this one temporary action (RTX 3090 Ti Founders for 1,899 euros at NBB) and there will be no further price reductions.
