WoW: Dragonflight: More space in your pockets! Mats can be stacked much higher
Many WoW heroes know the chronic lack of space in their pockets. With WoW: Dragonflight that could finally be a thing of the past. Because instead of a few bigger bags, the system will soon let us stack our mats and consumables much higher!
In the course of an expansion, all sorts of stuff accumulates in the pockets of our WoW heroes, from various armor parts to consumables and crafting materials. The latter in particular will probably increase significantly with WoW: Dragonflight. Because the sheer amount of different materials will increase rapidly as the professions are revised. There aren’t more mats per se, but from herbs to vials (which replace the bottles) there is almost everything and each in three different quality levels. And since these don’t mix, they clog our pockets in record time.
Although the developers have already confirmed that we get an extra bag solely for crafting materials, however, that alone should not be enough. And that’s why the WoW developers have decided to take an additional step.
Larger stacks for mats and consumables
There are basically two approaches to solving the space problem. You give the players more space (aka bigger bags) or you reduce the space required by the items. The former is done using the new material bag, the latter is now achieved through higher stacks.
- InWoW (buy now ): Dragonflight you can stack crafting materials up to 1000, consumables up to 200.
So not only do the many herbs, leather and ores take up significantly less space, but also buff food or potions. That should relieve the pockets of one or the other player significantly.

But there is a catch to all of this. So far, only the new items can really be stacked that far in the alpha. Old ores, herbs, potions and the like cannot be stacked higher than before. This problem is of course not quite as relevant, but it is worth mentioning. Your material warehouses, in which you have stored the items from previous expansions, will not suddenly offer more space because you can stack them higher. Blizzard may still address this issue, but it shouldn’t be high on the priority list.
