WoW: The evolution of Sylvanas Windrunner’s model
World of Warcraft icon Sylvanas Windrunner, or Windrunner, has received so many models over the course of the game that even the most loyal fans can quickly lose track. Reddit now has a nice overview that shows everyone from the start of the game in 2004 to today.
Lady Sylvanas Windrunner, also known to WoW veterans as “The Dark Lady” and “The Banshee Queen”, is the former warchief of the Horde and former supreme ruler of the Forsaken, one of the most powerful undead factions on Azeroth. While alive, that is, before her undeath, Sylvanas was the ranger general of Silvermoon City, whose leadership and martial skills were unmatched.
During the Third War, she valiantly defended Quel’Thalas against an invasion of the Scourge led by the death knight Arthas Menethil. Ultimately, however, Sylvanas fell in battle, and instead of granting the ranger-general a quick death, Arthas ripped her soul from her and turned her into a Banshee – a sneaky and vengeful agent of the Lich King, empowered by hate.

As WoW (buy now ) Released in America in 2004, Sylvanas initially had a night elf model, because the blood elves and Quel’Thalas only appeared in the first expansion, “The Burning Crusade”. Since then, her model has undergone a number of changes up to the current Shadowlands expansion, which gradually made her look more and more “epic”. If you want to marvel at the old Sylvanas live, you should make a detour to the Undercity in WoW Classic, and if you want to attend a very special event, you should definitely do the quest line about the in the Geisterlands in TBC Classic Play Fustin’s Necklace! — (source).
