The Danny scandal is currently moving the German influencer scene. A TikToker apparently wanted to take advantage of the shock and spread fake tweets on the subject.

Cologne – The German influencer scene has been mainly about the Danny scandal for a few days. While horror at the crime and encouragement for the victim are pouring out from all quarters, there seem to be some who want to shamelessly take advantage of the situation. On TikTok, a user tried to spread fake tweets from major Twitch streamers and YouTubers.

What happened? On July 18, it was published via a Twitter account that YouTuber Danny had been convicted of rape. Apparently, his ex-girlfriend reported him and won the case in court. According to the verdict, Danny received a year and a half probation.

A lot has happened in the German influencer scene since then. Among other things, the YouTubers Papaplatte and T-Low made emotional statements about the Danny scandal. Papaplatte and T-Low are also real YouTube stars who were close friends of Danny until the crime was discovered.

Which fake tweets are we talking about? Papaplatte and T-Low aren’t the only ones speaking out on the subject. Twitch greats like MontanaBlack and Rewinside also made statements and strongly condemned the crime. However, a TikToker apparently wanted to take advantage of the situation and produced some fake tweets, which he posted in a video on TikTok.

The post begins with the quote “Shocking tweets from influencers on the Danny topic.” Then some manipulated images of Twitter posts are shown. Among other things, the fake tweets show the alleged Rewinside siding with Danny and supporting the convicted rapist.

Who is Rewinside? Sebastian Meyer, on the Internet as “Rewinside” – Rewi for short – is one of the biggest influencers in Germany. He became known through “Let’s Play” videos on YouTube. In the meantime he has worked on several major video and music productions. He continues to entertain his fans with regular streams and videos related to gaming and entertainment.

Rewinside freaks out after fake tweets about Danny scandal drive him mad

This is how Rewinside responds: In his video, Rewinside is extremely outraged by the counterfeiter’s audacity. “How disgusting can you be“, he asks and continues to rage “how disgusting can you be […] to produce such a s*** and then to accuse us of a shitstorm?“

The fake tweets were quickly recognized as fakes by the users: Not least because the influencers concerned had previously spoken out loudly to the contrary and demanded harsher penalties for Danny. According to Rewinside, MontanaBlack wrote under the TikTok: “do you delete [den Mist] alone, or do I need to hire a lawyer?“.

The fake tweets were deleted in time: The TikTok with the said fake tweets about the Danny scandal have since been deleted. Rewinside explains the danger of the situation: “Imagine […] something is seen […] and then finds at once […] the BILD that […] and sits down in the nest that has been made and pushes a storyline into us. And suddenly you lose all yours for no reason [Werbepartner Anm. d. Red.]your standing in public.”

Especially all the boomers and stuff, they have that in their heads.

Rewinside thinks that their own fans would certainly quickly smell the roast and recognize the fake. But “if that goes beyond the internet and then it’s suddenly in the mainstream media and then there are people who are 50, 60 – then you can justify yourself as often as you want because they don’t notice. They then have this picture of you in their heads, even if it’s fake […] you can’t get rid of this standing anymore.“

Is it going to court? Rewinside says in his video that he would like to sue the perpetrator of the fake tweets for defamation. But he wasn’t sure if that would lead to success. Because both the TikTok and the channel have since been deleted, he is somewhat appeased at the end of his video.
