Diablo 4: Beta will probably start shortly

from Sarah Petzold
The beta of Diablo 4 will probably not be long in coming. The developers have already added the relevant files to the Battlenet launcher. So fans will probably be able to put their hands on the new ARPG very soon.

While Diablo Immortal is causing a stir – both positive and negative – among Blizzard fans and within the gaming community at large, the next installment in the series is already casting its shadow. Diablo 4 is scheduled for release in 2023, as the developers announced at the Microsoft Showcase in June 2022. But we don’t have to wait until then to try the title for ourselves.

Codename “Fenris” provides crucial information

Because the beta of Diablo 4 will probably start very soon. Although Blizzard has not yet announced an official start date for the beta, there are already clear indications that we do not have to wait much longer. As the Wowhead editorial team found out, the Battlenet launcher already includes the installation files for the game’s beta.

An installation window is already present, as are the configuration files in the Battlenet catalogue. These files contain strings in which the name Fenris is mentioned several times. This is the codename for Diablo 4, under which the project will be run during development at Blizzard. The string “selector_display_name”:”fenris#FENRIS_NAME_BETA” speaks a clear language.

Anyone who would like to take part in the beta has been able to register on the official Diablo 4 website since mid-June 2022. Simply log in there with your Battlenet account and click on the “Register” button. With a bit of luck, your account will then be activated at the start of the Diablo 4 beta. You can then install the files through the Battlenet client. If you want to be sure to take part in the beta, you can also get a Diablo 4 tattoo to get beta access and a free key for the game…
