CJ instead of cat: Stray becomes a disturbing experience with this GTA San Andreas mod
There are mods that are meant to make a game better, and there are mods that are just meant to amuse us. And then there are mods like this customization for Stray, which inadvertently gives us a horror trip that Silent Hill and Resident Evil can only dream of.
Stray becomes pure horror thanks to Mod
It’s all about this: In the meantime, every major title that is also released for the PC has its own meme mods that replace characters with well-known figures such as Thomas the Tank Engine or Sonic. CJ from is also among the most popular mod items GTA San Andreaswhich you can now play in Stray instead of the cat with the orange fur (via Nexus Mods).
Is it all just a joke? These adjustments should give us a few laughs, as the author of the CJ mod also confirms: “This mod is intended as a joke, since CJ has to be modded into every existing game.” However, the sight of the gangster keeps us laughing neck when he struts around on all fours, cleans his cat buddies’ fur with his tongue or lets out a meow that just sounds wrong coming from that mouth.
Here’s the horror in action:

The beginning is particularly bad: As modder Sirgalahad172 writes, all cats in the game share the same model and only have a different fur texture. That means your cat family is all CJs, only they still have their coat color. It makes the actually cute kittens look almost scarier than the CJ furry animal itself – and that’s saying something.
Stray looks better with a cat after all:
Stray really is one of the most beautiful games of the year – and it’s really good too
More news about Stray:
Stray is a console exclusive on PS4 and PS5 and is part of PS Plus Extra and Premium. However, since the indie title is also available for the PC, the game can be modded. It is not surprising that there is interest here, as Stray is extremely popular. The international press showers the cat adventure with praise and very good ratings, and Stray also knows how to convince us in the GamePro test.
Have you played Stray yet? And what do you say to CJ, who is hopping around on all fours?
