Diablo Immortal: Installed more than 20 million times

from Rhonda Bachman
The much-criticized Diablo Immortal recently announced a new milestone. The mobile game, which has also been released for the PC, has already been installed more than 20 million times since its release. To celebrate this achievement, players will receive some in-game rewards.

Diablo Immortal was released on June 2nd for PC, Android and iOS and was the most successful launch of the Diablo series. Just a few days after the release, the Blizzard developers were able to announce over 10 million installations of the game. Now a new milestone has been reached, because according to the studio, Diablo Immortal has already been installed more than 20 million times. There are some in-game rewards for the players.

Diablo Immortal successful despite criticism

It is not at all self-evident that Diablo Immortal is so successful. The developers were booed when the title was presented at BlizzCon 2018. After release, the game made a name for itself with its persistent microtransactions and the cost of upgrading a character. Diablo Immortal then set a new record for the lowest rated game on Metacritic.

In early July it became known that Diablo Immortal probably can generate $1 million in sales daily. While that’s a huge sum, it would already be a whopping 50 percent drop in revenue. In its first week, the game is said to have generated around 2.4 million US dollars a day.

The first content update and Season 2 for Diablo Immortal were released in early July. There were also some improvements and bug fixes. With Vitaath, the trembling death, the first new raid boss for the game has also appeared. However, the requirements for the icy boss are so high that casual players are wondering if they will ever be able to face off against Vitaath.
