According to the insider and partner of Epic Games, the long time until the Fortnite skins are released is absolutely no sign that they have been canceled. On the contrary, ShiinaBR reaffirms that the UE live stream should be taken as confirmation of the release of collaborations with DOOM and Family Guy.
