As Daedalic and Nacon announced in the evening, the release of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has been postponed.

There is talk of a postponement of “several months”, neither company is currently naming a new release date.

Why it takes longer

“Daedalic Entertainment and Nacon would like to thank all players for their patience and support thus far,” it said in a statement.

“Over the past few years, the team has worked hard to realize their vision of a stunning world filled with magic and wonder. Daedalic Entertainment strives to live up to the expectations of its community and present the untold story of Gollum in a way that… unveil a way that honors JRR Tolkien’s vision.”

“Therefore, in order to deliver the best possible experience, Daedalic and Nacon have decided to push back the release date of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum by a few months.”

An update with new information on the exact timing should follow “in the near future”.

The last plan was to release the game on September 1, 2022. This date was only announced in May.
