Hearthstone: Patch 24.0 brings new Battleground Heroes

The new Hearthstone expansion Murder at Castle Nathria will be released on August 2nd. With Patch 24.0 players are already being prepared for the expansion. As of now, achievements from the previous expansion Journey to the Sunken City no longer grant experience for the reward path. You won’t be able to shimmy down the reward path again until August 2, 2022, when Murder in Castle Nathria goes live.

In addition to minor battlefield changes and major updates for the mercenary mode, you have the chance to use the reward path again new coin skins to earn. The Venthyr Coin can be earned by completing the first 90 stages of the Tavern Pass reward path. You can get the Coin from Castle Nathria by culling 135 unique cards Murder at Castle Nathria collects. These achievements will be made easier for you as soon as later in the expansion the already announced Mini set with 35 additional cards is published. Then you can also get the new diamond card more easily.

Murloc Holmes and Decimator Olgra are the two diamond cards in the set. How to unlock them:

• Murloc Holmes – Instantly unlocked with Inn Pass purchase. All you have to do is get it via the reward path.
• Decimator Olgra – Reward for players who have completed the “Legendary Collector – Murder at Castle Nathria” (25 legendary cards from Murder at Castle Nathria unlocked) completed.

Hero updates for Battlegrounds mode

• The Lich King, Sneed, and Edwin VanCleef can now target both minions in Bob’s Tavern and friendly minions. (Effects that don’t last “for one turn” carry over to the next recruitment phase if you freeze that minion in the inn).

Changes to Servants

• Red Whelp
  • Old: 1 attack, 2 lives. → New: 2 attack, 2 lives.

• Mutant Chromawing has been reworked and is back in minion select.

• Mutating Chromawing [Gasthausstufe 1, Drache]
• 1 attack, 1 life. Gain +1/+1 for each friendly Dragon after you increase your Tavern level.

New Battlefield Hero: Master Thief Togwaggel

• The perfect crime
  • [9 Gold] Steal all of the servants in Bob’s Tavern. Each turn, your next hero ability costs (1) less.
  • Developer Comments: At the end of each Recruitment Phase, the cost of your next Hero Power is automatically reduced by 1. Each time you use Togwaggel’s Hero Power, the cost is reset to the original 9 Gold and the cycle begins again.

Players with Battlegrounds bonuses will have early access to Master Thief Togwaggel before its official release on August 9th.

New battlefield emotes

Starting with Patch 24.0, all players will have access to the standard Battlegrounds emotes. Players can also obtain special emotes to equip instead of the normal emotes in the Battlegrounds Collection. The First Series of Battleground Emotes: Crime Mayhem is a collection of emotes themed around Nathria and the murder investigation. It will be available a week after the expansion release! Whether you’re sweating like a suspect or leisurely sipping tea, there’s bound to be the perfect emote for you.

On August 2nd when Murder at Castle Nathria appears, all ongoing arena rounds are ended and a new arena season begins. The pool of arena sets will rotate and these sets will be available in the arena:
