Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is set to become a timeless series

Just a few days ago Amazon sent us a new trailer The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power brings, which provides another look at the fantasy series. Now co-showrunner Patrick McKay spoke in an interview totally movie about some other aspects of the gigantic project. Among other things, it is the goal of the makers to create a timeless story like the works of writers JRR Tolkien to create.

Events from today have no influence

In recent months, fans have often had concerns that the story of the Lord of the Rings series was influenced by current politics and world events influenced could become. According to McKay, that’s not how it should be: “That was one of Tolkien’s debates with friends and colleagues. It was important that what he creates not be an allegory. He did not comment on historical events of his or any other time. He was not trying to convey a message, addressed contemporary politics.”

“He wanted to create a myth that was not only timeless but also applicable […] – the applicability over all times.” The creators of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power also want to fulfill this expectation in order to make the fans happy. “We don’t want to adapt the material in a way that makes it relevant to the present day. We strive to make it timeless.” – said Patrick McKay in the new issue of Total Film.
