GTA Online gets fresh content and small improvements with the summer update 2022. Only one change does not go far enough for the fans and causes anger.

New York – GTA Online is the all-time favorite of Rockstar Games. With regular updates, the publisher keeps the game fresh for PC and consoles and provides new content. In the latest summer update, a much too powerful vehicle should finally be weakened, which trolls and griefer like to use to annoy other players. However, the difference hardly seems noticeable, and the fans react sourly.

GTA Online – Summer Update should put a stop to trolls

This causes frustration for a long time: GTA Online’s levitation motorcycle, dubbed the Oppressor MK II, is arguably the most fan-hated vehicle in all of GTA Online. Trolls love to use the vehicle to spoil the fun of the online open world for other players. The Oppressor MK II is as quick as it is deadly and can make life hell for other players with homing missiles, especially in public lobbies.

After many fans protested loudly, Rockstar Games gave in and announced on July 7th that they would significantly weaken the vehicle in the GTA Online Summer Update in order to put a stop to trolls.

However, when the GTA Online summer update was released on July 26, fans were disappointed. A tweet from the GTA News RockstarINTEL.com Twitter account made it clear that the vehicle’s missiles can still kill players with a single hit. So the vehicle is still too powerful.

What is the community saying? The community in GTA Online is disappointed by the barely noticeable weakening (also called “Nerf”) in the summer update 2022 and demands that the vehicle’s guided missiles should only be able to aim at NPCs and no longer at players.

  • Wolf (@Paradox__Wolf) writes, “You should just remove the nerf and stop the missiles from targeting players, but they can still target NPCs.”
  • HearYou (@ImHearYou) comments with disappointment: “So the nerf is useless then.”
  • BIG W MANS (@dripsince) writes, “They never made a big change to the rockets, I knew it was a lie.”

What’s next? Rockstar Games should weaken the vehicle even further with another patch. While trolls and griefers exist in most online communities, they are particularly annoying in GTA Online.

Even if the fans are currently disappointed with the nerf, Rockstar Games can always improve it with another patch, so it is quite possible that the last word has not yet been spoken. You can read what else the summer update 2022 for GTA Online has to offer in our overview.
