Mario Kart 8: Tomorrow’s maintenance gives hope for DLC tracks
When is the second wave of DLC tracks announced for Mario Kart 8 coming? This is what driving fans have been asking themselves for weeks. Tomorrow’s maintenance work gives hope again.
Since the release of the first wave in March, things have been getting quieter and quieter about the track extensions that Nintendo promised us in the DLC pass for the eighth offshoot of the popular racer. And even if we are once again bitterly disappointed in the end, speculation on Twitter and Co. will run hot at first.
Mario Kart 8: Preparations for the second DLC wave?
Behind the maintenance work announced for July 28 between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., users suspect the long-awaited update for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The reason for this lies in the maintenance updates of other titles such as Pokémon Sword & Shield, Animal Crossing or Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. All were supplied with new content during the maintenance work.

Some users on Twitter also write in advance about their disappointment if it is not the hoped-for track update. This is understandable, given that Mario Kart 8 fans were left out in the rain just a few weeks ago: an advertisement in a Japanese 7-Eleven store was already teasing new tracks for July 17, but they weren’t quite sure whether it was about the DLC tracks and the correct release date at all.
After all: The publication would not be that far from the previously assumed release date if the speculation about the fresh content in the course of tomorrow’s maintenance work should ultimately come true. However, we should continue to wait in vain for an official report.
