Mario Kart 8: Second Wave of DLC Tracks will be released on August 4th

The wait is finally over: With the second wave of DLC, Nintendo is launching the long-awaited new tracks for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The time has already come on August 4th.

While the rumors have been bubbling up more and more over the past few weeks, the Japanese game developer ended the long-awaited fans’ guesswork and simply announced the release of the new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tracks themselves. Eight additional slopes await us and we get a little foretaste in our own trailer.

What does the new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe track DLC have to offer?

Fans of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe should already start the engine, because things are getting hectic as usual on some of the tracks, some of which are even brand new. This is proven by the almost three-minute trailer that Nintendo released as part of the announcement of the second wave of DLC tracks:

You can see various favorites from the past few years, such as the Waluigi pinball, which Nintendo DS players will remember fondly for its unpredictable elements that can quickly create moments of surprise. Lovers of the classic kart courses will also get their money’s worth, because with the particularly sharp curves third edition of Mario’s Piste and the oppressively warm Kalimari desert two SNES or N64 routes are available. As the last course of the beet cup, the still quite new one is lined up New York Speedway one that only recently made its entry into the franchise on smartphones and tablets with Mario Kart Tour.

The Propeller Cup, on the other hand, awaits you with a brand new track: the tempting s-sounding one Ice Cream Escapade provides the urgently needed cooling in heated driving battles. The second stretch of the cup is theMushroom Canyon, whose subterranean cave, deep chasms and – of course – huge mushrooms with which we can catapult ourselves into the air, we already know from the Wii. That snow country was there for the first time on the Game Boy Advance, while dealing with the sunny Sydney jaunt yet another tour representative joined the new DLC routes.

Four more waves planned by the end of 2023

Despite all the euphoria about the new DLC routes for Mario Kart 8, we can only hope that Nintendo won’t keep us waiting for weeks and will be more transparent about future updates. Since the announcement of the route pass, we have known by when we can ride all six planned waves, which always have eight routes each, but there is no more specific release plan.

So it happened that in the past few weeks, fans have been clinging to every little clue, be it just a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe ad discovered in a Japanese 7-Eleven store.
