The Elder Scrolls Online: Lost Depths and Update 35 are known to be released on August 22, 2022 on PC/Mac, Steam and Stadia as well as on September 9, 2022 coming to Xbox and PlayStation. As part of the 2022 year-round adventure, Legacy of the Bretons, the upcoming DLC brings two new four-player dungeons, as in previous third quarters. For one of the two dungeons, the Earthroot Enclave, the Zenimax developers now have an extensive preview released.
Earthroot Enclave preview
For centuries, the Earthroot Enclave served as a retreat for the druids of the Systren, regardless of their faction. But now this venerable sanctuary has been attacked by the Firesong Circle – an unforgivable act!
“The Earthroot Enclave is an ancient place where druids gather to commune with natureexplains Mike Finnigan, TESOs (buy now €49.99) Encounters Lead. “All are welcome, but it is up to the Stone Lore Circle to watch over the site. The Firesong, another group, invaded and attacked, an outrage rarely seen in Druidic society.“
Druid Laurel, a historian and member of the Lore of Stone, needs your help to repel the Firesong onslaught and protect the enclave’s most sacred relics. You and your allies must fight your way across the island, from the sanctuary’s underbelly to the highest peaks, to confront Archdruid Devyric before he finds what he is looking for.
As part of the ongoing saga of the Breton Legacy, what you will discover in this dungeon will have implications for the adventures to come. “In the Earthroot Enclave we were able to provide a little more insight into the different druid groups of the Systren and how they interact with each othersays Finnigan. “But not only that, as the Firesong attack portends a bleak future, as what they seek in this sanctuary is a key element of the ongoing story.“
Duel between druids
As you battle your way through the sanctuary, you will delve deep into this island sanctuary and encounter three unique areas. “In the Earthroot Enclave, there are three conventions by which the druids speak to the nature of the island: stone, root, and air“, according to Finnigan. “Each area feels unique. From the cramped crags of the Covenant of Stone, to the underground paths of the Covenant of Root, to the lofty crags of the Covenant of Air.“
Though the Enclave is actually a place of equanimity, the Firesong has brought violence and chaos there. The druids searching Earthroot are excellent fighters, but they are also in the company of their own savage beasts: mindless constructs or even corrupted spirits of the island. If you and your comrades plan to stop Devyric, you’ll also have to contend with a host of tricky boss battles that will test your skills in new and interesting ways.

“Each boss offers a unique challenge, and each one requires you to use different strategies to overcome themsays Finnigan. “The first boss, the Corruption of the Stone, requires you to have quick legs to quickly take on certain key positions. With the second leader, the corruption of the root, you will benefit most if you think strategically about how you deal with the individual elements in this fight. Archdruid Devyric, on the other hand, combines these two mechanics, but also rewards players for using the druid’s own abilities to counter future attacks.“
Relics of the Enclave
Should you succeed and make your way through the Earthroot Enclave, a host of unique rewards await you that can only be found in that specific dungeon. This includes three unique gear sets, a mask set, achievements, and collectibles.

One of these unique sets is Stone Deal, which increases your allies’ damage and endurance when you buff them with an area heal.
“‘Stone Agreement’ makes each area heal a little ‘Battle Prayer’‘, giving support characters more flexibility in choosing their abilities,” explains Stephen Cerretani, combat designer for the new sets. “Properly placed area heals will go a long way in helping your party deal more damage, especially when using a classic set like Spellpower Heal, since the area heal procs both effects so quickly.“

Some of the Earthroot Enclave collectibles include Draoife Touch body and face paint, unique titles such as the “Curse of the Invaders” (for completing the most challenging achievements), and the mulberry-colored Hermit Crab pet that you’ll already receive for doing so, one of the two new dungeons from “Lost Depths”!
