DDR5 RAM: Corsair presents new Vengeance RGB modules in black and white

from Norman Wittkopf
Corsair is expanding its well-known Vengeance RGB model series with illuminated DDR5 memory with up to 6,600 MT/s and 32 GiByte per bar in the future.

The Vengeance RGB series is already known from the DDR4 generation, among other things, and while Corsair recently added its upscale “Dominator Platinum RGB” model series, the somewhat more affordable Vengeance models with lighting should now also be available according to the press release. Corsair’s Vengeance RGB DDR5 will initially be available with speeds of up to 6,400 MT/s and capacities of up to 32 GiB (2 x 16 GiB), while clock speeds of up to 6,600 MT/s and kits with two 32 GiB should become available.

The modules feature dynamic, individually controllable RGB lighting with ten zones, enclosed in a “panoramic light bar” at the top of each module. The seamless light array should be clearly visible from different angles and can be adjusted and controlled as usual via Corsair’s iCUE software for various lighting effects and the like. In addition, according to Corsair, the software should allow custom Intel XMP 3.0 profiles, which should be available by the end of the year, for various applications, OC settings and more, instead of doing the whole thing in the BIOS.

The manufacturer promises to only use hand-picked, strictly selected memory chips “to ensure consistently high frequencies”, paired with “high-performance PCBs for excellent signal quality and stability”. Meanwhile, a heat spreader made of aluminum is responsible for cooling the chips. As usual with Corsair RAM, there is a “limited warranty over the product lifetime”.
