Early Access in the starting blocks – but there’s a catch

Modern Warfare 2 is set to get Early Access. A leak promises fans that they can watch the game earlier. But there’s a catch.

Santa Monica, California – Call of Duty fans will have to wait until October 28 to finally be able to play the second part of Modern Warfare. Meanwhile, there are already many rumors and leaks about Modern Warfare 2. But a leak gives the fans a lot of hope. Activision may be planning early access to the game. However, this will only affect a selected part of the game and may therefore turn out differently than expected.

According to the leak, Modern Warfare 2: Early Access is coming – but only for the campaign

This is the leak: The leak to Modern Warfare 2 Early Access comes from the CoD dataminer Reality. In the past, this has repeatedly uncovered various Activision projects and has already provided us with leaks for Modern Warfare 2 several times. Among other things, he predicted the arrival of fortresses in Warzone 2. Reality now claims to have found out that the developers are planning an early access version of the game. According to his reports, however, only the Modern Warfare 2 campaign should be playable earlier.

However, it is only a leak. Activision itself has not yet commented on early access to the Modern Warfare 2 campaign. It would be conceivable, however, because fans were already able to try out the campaign mode for the first Modern Warfare offshoot. There are also rumors about a possible date for the beta version of the multiplayer of Modern Warfare 2. This would give fans two ways to test the game in advance.

This is what we know about the campaign: The Modern Warfare 2 campaign will pick up three years after the events from the first part. At this point, fan favorite Captain Price had already put together Task Force 141. This special unit gets to the bottom of criminal activities all over the world. The campaign is about a conflict in the USA that can only be stopped by working with Mexico.

We got a first glimpse of the Modern Warfare 2 campaign at Summer Game Fest 2022. In the Dark Water mission presented there, the special unit moved from an oil platform in the middle of the sea to a moving ship. Both the look and the gameplay promised a lot. No wonder fans can’t wait to get their hands on the game. And if the leak comes true, it might happen sooner than expected.
