Two years after its release, Warzone is finally fixing the feature that is guaranteed to have cost you victory. But the most important function is still missing.

Santa Monica, California – Warzone always has features that are annoying. They either don’t work properly, or they disrupt the flow of the Battle Royale game. One of the most talked about features is the gas mask in Activision’s shooter. This should now – two years after the release – finally be fixed. There is a big catch, however.

Warzone brings the feature that fans have been asking for for years – but not in the way you think

Which feature is it? The gas mask is a much-discussed topic in Warzone. Also in Season 4 Reloaded, two years after release, it is automatically put on when you step on the gas. Conversely, it is automatically released if you exit the gas or break the mask – even in the middle of a shootout. This can sometimes lead to one or the other unwanted defeat, because the soldier would rather fiddle with the mask than shoot.

In Warzone, you should soon be able to put on and take off your gas mask yourself. It will then no longer be put on you automatically as soon as you enter the gas. If you have activated the function in the menu, you can decide for yourself when you want to put on and take off the gas mask in Warzone.

Where does the information come from? In the patch notes for Warzone Season 4 Reloaded, not only three of the strongest weapons were nerfed. In the menu you can now select the function in the control settings to put on and take off the gas mask yourself.

There is a catch: The fix for the gas mask is not quite as rosy as it sounds. It will continue to be the case that the gas mask will be automatically removed as soon as it breaks. In addition, the function does not come into play immediately, but only in Season 5. According to the release leaks for Warzone 2, the new Battle Royale should be released this year. There are also indications that Warzone will no longer receive Season 6.

In the worst case, this could mean that the half fix for the gas mask is effectively two months in the game before it no longer gets content and is superseded. But it will still be a few months until then, during which you can try out the setup for the new Vargo-S in Warzone, for example.
