A new Marvel’s Midnight Suns video follows the story of master of the mystical arts, Doctor Strange.

With the release of Marvel’s Midnight Suns fast approaching, the Marvel heroes will be introduced one after the other.

This time it’s the turn of the master of the mystical arts, Doctor Stephen Strange. Many may already know its origin from the MCU, but things behave differently in the comics.

Doctor Strange made his debut in the Strange Tales 1963 and he was often used as an experimental character, for example pushing the boundaries of comics towards the horror genre. He is one of the best surgeons in the world, immensely arrogant and always looking for the next medical challenge to offer his services at absurd prices.

After a tragic car accident, with massive nerve damage in both hands, he can no longer practice as a surgeon and embarks all over the world in search of a cure. In this search he finally ends up with supreme wizard of the universe 616 and teaches him. During his training he gets to know the mystical arts and martial arts.

Later he lets himself in Sanctum Sanctorum settled down in New York and defended the world from there against all sorts of monsters, demons and adversaries beyond human imagination.

Along the way, he has worked with various Marvel characters several times and always has his friend Wong by his side. He is a member of various teams, such as the Avengers and is too Leader of the Defenders.

Some of his encounters are far more experimental than others, but some of the more familiar ones include foes like Dormamu from the Darkness Dimension or Dr. Doom, known from the Fantastic Four. What is less well known is that Doctor Strange also has several encounters with Dracula and even briefly rids the world of all vampires at one point in its history (rest in peace Edward Cullen).

After Doctor Strange becomes the supreme wizard of Universe 616 himself, he devotes himself to training new wizards within those he founded Strange Academy. Even Death has trouble defeating Doctor Strange, as per a comic book series. Doctor Strange is found dead one day on the doorstep of the Sanctum Sanctorum with all of his artifacts removed and his hands removed as well. Shortly thereafter, a portal opens that reveals a younger Strange who helps solve the murder. After the culprit is caught, young Strange casts a spell that uses Kaecilius’ body to heal Doctor Strange.

Once the supreme wizard returns to life, the universe will be saved again, but Doctor Strange will have to return to the afterlife.
