PS5: Sony is deleting a feature because hardly anyone uses it

The Accolades feature on PlayStation 5 should allow players to rate others.

However, this function was probably not as much in demand as one thought, so it will be removed again.

Not a popular feature

Like Sony Interactive Entertainment communicatesthe feature was rarely used, so it is scheduled to be dropped “in the near future”.

You could use the Accolades to rate other players in various categories, including “helpful”, and thus provide positive feedback. However, this was only possible with people who are not on your own friends list, and only every twelve hours and once per multiplayer match.

On top of that, it was a feature that developers had to specifically include in their titles since it wasn’t widely available everywhere. It was used in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, Destruction AllStars and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, among others.

All of this in combination led to the rather limited use and to the fact that Sony no longer wants to invest any resources in it in the future.

Have you ever used the Accolades or were you aware of their existence?
