A new official Diablo book called “Diablo: Book of Lorath” has been listed on Amazon and other websites. The book will be released on April 18th next year and could be a hint to the release date of Diablo 4.

Like the website wow head reported, the publication of “Diablo: Book of Lorath” going to be a big thing for the Diablo franchise, since Blizzard Entertainment is known for releasing books in time with major game releases. For reference, the Book of Cain was released on December 13, 2011, and Diablo 3 launched on May 15, 2012. The first and only expansion pack for Diablo 3, Reaper of Souls, was released on March 25, 2014 , with the accompanying “Book of Tyrael” previously appearing on October 1, 2013.

Looking at this data, the average time between the release date of a Diablo book and the game is five to six months, so Diablo 4 fans can expect a release date somewhere between September and October next year. Story wise, the upcoming book will tell the story of Lorath Nahr, one of the last Horadric, and his journey through Sanctuary. This also brings the Amazon Islands back into focus as a potential future location, as Skovos (see also the news picture) is mentioned in Diablo 3’s 5th act when Tyrael and Lorath Nahr discuss that a Horadric expedition sent to the islands has not returned be.
