Pokemon fan goes viral after doing a Sandygast on the beach Dexerto

A Reddit user recently went viral for his Sandygast-inspired sandcastle building that brought the Ghost/Ground-type Pokémon to life on the beach.

Introduced in the seventh generation of Pokémon, Sandygast comes to life through sand, making it a perfect candidate for sandcastle inspiration.

Its tunneled mouth and eyes made of pebbles ensure that the creature hardly seems like a threat. However, the Sandygast’s unassuming shape, along with the shovel lodged in its head, makes for the perfect draw for kids who feel compelled to add something to the sandy mass.

And now, there is one of those Pokémon creatures that inhabit a beach in the real world.

Pokémon Sandygast Beach Construction Goes Viral

SwampCrafter’s Sandygast’s sandcastle has gotten quite a bit of attention since a photo of the creation was posted on Reddit.

The real-life Sandygast looks just like his digital counterpart, complete with two small eyes and a tunnel for a mouth. Of course, the little perforated shovel on top of his head completes the entire look.

While the shovel isn’t red, bystanders would probably do well not to touch the protruding object.

Hopefully this mound of sand doesn’t turn into something scarier like the Palossand.

Since SwampCrafter posted the photo earlier this week, the Reddit post has garnered more than 8,000 likes. And most of the people in the thread seem impressed.

The Pokémon Sandygast isn’t the only character from a popular franchise to take over a beach lately.

While visiting Taiwan’s Fulong Beach last month, a Reddit user stumbled across an exhibit featuring a hulking God of War creation made out of sand.

The build in question featured Kratos and Atreus with the God of War Ragnarok logo placed above their heads.
