Star Wars: Andor – Trailer shows well-known characters and reveals release date
Disney has released a new trailer for the upcoming Star Wars series Andor, which reveals the release date, among other things. We also see familiar characters from the Star Wars universe and get a feel for the mood of the series.
Disney and Lucasfilm are currently releasing Star Wars series – and after Obi Wan, Andor is already the next offshoot. The new series is about the emergence of the rebel alliance against the Empire and takes place a few years before the events of Star Wars: Episode 4. Now there is a new trailer for the series, which for the first time gives an impression of the mood with some longer scenes Star Wars: Andor transported.
Trailer gives a real Star Wars feeling
Right at the beginning of the trailer, it becomes clear that Andor strikes a darker tone than Star Wars: Rebels and is primarily based on Rogue One. Various action sequences also promise numerous ground and air battles between rebels and empire:
The story of the series focuses on Cassian Andor, who infiltrates the Empire, which he believes has become fat and lazy, as an alleged officer. In the trailer we not only see Diego Luna in the role of Cassian Andor, but also Forest Whitaker as rebel leader Saw Herrera and Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma.
In addition, Disney has finally announced the final release date for the first three episodes of the series with the trailer: it should be on September 21, 2022. Then the first three of the total of twelve episodes will be available on Disney+ as streaming content. The other episodes are expected to appear on a weekly basis, as was the case with Obi Wan.
