From now on you can also experience the "Shadowlands" of WoW in Hearthstone

Hearthstone’s latest expansion is live. We’ll tell you what’s in “Murder at Castle Nathria”.

The Hearthstone year 2022 is in full swing as the second major expansion of the year has now been released.

In “Murder at Castle Nathria” Blizzard’s card game is dedicated to an area of World of Warcraft that is still quite young – namely the shadow lands. Of course, a lot is pulled through the cocoa, but above all many new playful possibilities are created.

What’s in the new expansion? As usual with Hearthstone, “Murder at Castle Nathria” comes with 135 new cards. We have presented all 135 new cards to you here.

Historically, the expansion takes place in “Revendreth”, more precisely the eponymous castle Nathria. Someone has murdered Count Denathrius and a murloc detective is trying to figure out how the murder happened in Cluedo fashion. Of course, this brings all sorts of locations, minions and legendary weapons to the scene – in addition to the prime suspects.

The best WoW villain returns in Hearthstone only to die again

What are the new terms? Overall, “Murder at Castle Nathria” brings several small changes. In addition to a new keyword, there is even a whole new card type that should change Hearthstone forever. But there is also a place for recurring concepts.

Keyword: Flood – Cards with “Flour” unlock additional effects if you have them in hand while friendly minions are dying.

So a card with “Flood (3)” would trigger its special effect if 3 minions die while the card is in hand. The flood effects are relatively powerful, but they also make the card significantly weaker when played without this effect. They are usually only really mana-efficient when the flooding effect has been activated.

locations – Locations aren’t really a keyword, they’re a card type all their own. They have a mana cost and are played like minions, so they take up a slot on the board.

However, they cannot be attacked and do not attack. Instead, they can be used multiple times to trigger special effects – such as freezing a servant, drawing a card, or more complex effects. They have a fixed number of durability (like weapons) and are destroyed after appropriate use.

Some cards with “Suspicious” in their names are also interesting. So mages, priests and warriors can discover a spell, a legendary servant or a weapon relatively cheaply.

However, if the opponent guesses which weapon you chose, they also get a copy of this spell. This should make for some exciting mind games where you don’t take the best choice not to give your opponent a card…or are you hoping the enemy thinks that?

How do you like the latest expansion? What cards are you definitely wanting to build a deck with?

Some players even got a lot for free: Up to €180 was given as card packs.
