F1 22: Cross-Play is coming later this month

Cross-play is coming to F1 22 later this month, according to Codemasters and Electronic Arts.

A specific date other than “end of August” has not yet been set, but before that there are two test runs.

The two separate test runs will take place on August 5-7 and August 12-14, respectively, in Social Race and Two-Player Career modes.

Among other things, the aim of cross-play is to improve matchmaking. If you want, you can also deactivate cross-play and only compete against others from the same device family.

Hosts of a session have the option to invite players on other platforms via the “Invite friends” option. Requests can be reviewed and accepted while playing via the “Invitations and Requests” option.
