Trymacs community demands ban for boost rank in Valorant

Of the Twitter-Streamers and acquaintances YouTuber Trymacs currently doing with his project “Road to Immortal” aware of oneself. This is a common YouTube format in which the entertainers often try to achieve a certain goal within a certain time limit.

So basically it’s an exciting format that inner fighting spirit can wake up. The players – for example in the Valorant-Ranked – grow beyond themselves and if everything goes well, the goal can even be reached in the end.

However, it should be a realistic challenge. But in the case of Trymacs, there’s a little catch.

This is the gaming setup of Trymacs:

Does Trymacs have a boosted rank in Valorant?

Radiant is the highest rank in Valorant and at immortal it’s about him anyway second highest rankwhich only 0.5 percent of Valorant players reach.

The community now accuses Trymacs of allowing himself to be boosted. being “Boosted Rank” does not correspond to his actual ranking or in other words, the rank does not correspond to his skills in the game.

He was boosted according to some voices from the community. But is that true? And what exactly is boosting? How is that even possible?

What is Boosting in a Competitive Shooter? We are boosted when the other players in a ranked game are many times better than ourselves. And how does that work? For example, if we look for four teammates and they simply play better, we will automatically be pulled up with them.

It’s a bit like the Bundeswehr, when the weakest member of a troop is dragged along by the entire platoon when it falls behind.

And the streamer certainly had help. At least he played along Rumathra, Amar or even Chefstrobel.

Community demands Valorant ban for Trymacs

While Trymacs his Celebrating successes on Twitter, other Twitter users point out to him that he has had himself boosted – which should take some of the celebratory mood off. Trymacs says:

“I finally, finally rented Immortal. The grind paid off. I’ve played a lot, now I’m here. Top 16,000 Europe.”

But the Twitter user SkipaVLR sure that Trymacs basically has no map knowledge at all, he doesn’t hit anything and that the success is therefore undeserved. You can see that in, among other things this video.

Trymacs himself has often emphasized in the past that he actually an Iron player be – which corresponds to the worst rank.

What’s the problem with boosting?

If Trymacs can be boosted, it would not only be a problem for him or for his community, which he then duped. It would be a problem that the entire Valorant community concerned, which is why a ban is now being demanded.

What are smurfers? Many of you may have experienced it from the other side. Smurfer or Smurfing are a known problem, only here stronger players fight their way through at lower ranks – which is why they almost always win.

How exactly does smurfing work? Experts with very good knowledge of the game make one new account, to be re-ranked to lower ranks. They are then usually automatically much better than those who remain at such a low rank. Ergo, the better ones also achieve better statistics.

While they level up relatively quickly, they break the game for many, as losing all the time can lead to frustration. The underlying Ranked feature, which is well thought out here by Riot Games, is thus overridden or even undermined, if you will. We then no longer play against equals, but against people who gain an unfair advantage – and mostly consciously.

So how bad is boosting in the end? So in the case of Trymacs it’s the other way around. When he then plays alone in a solo match on an Immortal Ranking, as he did in his video recently, his poor game skills become apparent. And that can become a burden for everyone on the team.

Trymacs is probably not doing himself any favors with his new YouTube format, in which he plays alone with and against Immortals. But the streamer shows insight and says:

“It’s assi, yes I know. Now some Immortal players will join my team and they can only lose. That’s silly. Yes. I’m sorry. I apologize. So.”

So in the end he does it only “for entertainment”. But what is your opinion on boosting and smurfing? Are such formats really fun, or does Trymacs go a step too far here by ignoring the consequences for the more serious Immortal players?

Feel free to write it in the comments and discuss with us! Have you already had similar experiences, for example with smurfs?
