Deus Ex-Studio probably wants to work on a new part that should surpass Cyberpunk 2077
When will there finally be a sequel to Deus Ex?
Square Enix sold several game brands to the Embracer Group in the middle of the year, including titles such as Tomb Raider, Legacy of Kain and Deus Ex. The developer studio Eidos Montreal is responsible for the latter series of games. But despite or because of the change in trademark rights, the studio remains optimistic about the development of a long-awaited new Deus Ex game.
Deus Ex is set to surpass Cyberpunk 2077
In his Game Mess Mornings Podcast Insider Jeff Grubb, who is well connected in the video game industry, talks about the Deus Ex development studio Eidos Montreal. According to his statements, the team would like to return to the Deux Ex series immediately and develop a new Deus Ex game that should even surpass Cyberpunk 2077:
The rumor I’ve heard is that the studio wants to start working on Deus Ex right away. The team wants to get back in immediately. They want to rise to the challenge – they want to do what Cyberpunk 2077 failed to do […].
However, Grubb insists it is too early to say whether or not Eidos Montreal will be able to attempt a Deus Ex title again. The chances of Deus Ex returning are at least better under the Embracer Group than under Square Enix, which the Japanese publisher recently treated the series very neglectfully.

What is Deus Ex about? Similar to Cyberpunk 2077, the Deus Ex series can be assigned to the Sci Fi genre. The game addresses the philosophical question of how far humanity is preserved when the human body is modified using nanotechnology.
What was the last Deus Ex part? The last major part of the series was released in 2015 with Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, in which we slip into the role of the augmented ex-cop Adam Jensen, i.e. equipped with high-tech body parts. Since then, fans have been staring expectantly into the tube and looking forward to a possible sequel.
Should it go to Eidos Montreal, a new Deus Ex title would have been released long ago. In previous interviews, the head of the responsible development studio stated that the studio still believes in the series. They’ve sweated so much blood and water for the franchise and they don’t want to give it up.
In addition to a potential Deus Ex title, the Embracer Group has all kinds of games up its sleeve. THQ Nordic is also part of the Embracer Group with all its subsidiaries and alone has 133 games in the pipeline, 79 of which are unannounced.
