Blizzard apparently wants to try another Warcraft Mobile game
Even though there have recently been reports of discontinued mobile games for the Warcraft universe, those responsible for Blizzard want to stay on the ball. This is proven by a current job application from Californians.
Let’s recap Blizzard Entertainment’s mobile efforts so far: Diablo Immortal has been heavily criticized by parts of the community and is still blossoming into one of the most successful games in the Activision Blizzard catalogue. With Warcraft Arclight Rumble you already have a second game in the pipeline, which was announced in May 2022 and is now going through the usual beta phases. And then there is two more Warcraft games for mobile devices (an MMO spinoff to WoW and a kind of Warcraft Go)which according to insider reports are said to have been discontinued.
Success makes school
In the history of video games, there are countless examples of record-breaking hit titles that have spawned countless imitators. The prime example brings Blizzard itself: World of Warcraft. So now Diablo Immortal is going through the roof, and you probably guessed it: the issue of mobile will remain an issue at Blizzard in the future.
Specifically, there is currently on Blizzard’s careers page a new job offer for a director in product management to work on a previously unannounced mobile game for the Warcraft universe. Just two of the many responsibilities of this leadership role: developing a long-term strategy for the game and ensuring that this vision is implemented. In addition, a product management team is to be set up that can deliver the important data at the right time in order to make the right decisions within development.
In addition, the director should build, provide and optimize a monetization model that can be used to increase the company’s long-term sales. Furthermore, he or she should observe the life cycle of the players in the game after the launch and implement initiatives with which the number of players can be further increased. Does someone take care of the fun in between?
