Mario Kart Tour: “New ways to play” coming in September

The smartphone offshoot Mario Kart Tour will get a new multiplayer update with “new ways to play” in September.

This could possibly be a battle mode that will be added.

The clues are already there

Dataminers had found corresponding references to a battle mode several months ago in the Mario Kart Tour game files.

“With the multiplayer update for Mario Kart Tour in late September, we’re adding new ways to play multiplayer,” it said on Twitter. More information will follow in early September.

The Gold Races, which were only available to Gold Pass subscribers, will also be removed.

The September update coincides with the game’s third birthday. Dataminers found sound files for GCN Cookie Land, DS Twilight House, Tour Paris Promenade, New York Minute and GBA Battle Course 1 in the game files.
