New launch date of the Razr 2022: confrontation with Samsung & Xiaomi?

Motorola will officially unveil the Razr 2022 foldable smartphone and the X30 Pro with a 200-megapixel camera on August 11th. After the launch event was postponed, Motorola announced this new date for the presentation. Four new foldables will be presented within a few days.

Originally, Motorola wanted to forestall Samsung with the launch of its new foldable. However, the Chinese postponed the presentation of the Razr 2022 folding smartphone on August 2 at the last second – most likely due to tensions between the USA and China. Now the company announced on Weibo the new date for the launch. The starting shot will be given on August 11 at 8 p.m. German time.

Three clamshell smartphone launches in two days

That puts the Razr 2022 in good company. A day earlier, on August 10, Samsung is rumored to be unveiling the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4. And another competitor will probably be launching a folding smartphone in the next few days. The reliable Leaker Ice Universe according to (via GSMArena) Xiaomi will also unveil its Mix Fold 2 on August 11th. So within two days, four folding smartphones will see the light of day, three of them in the so-called clamshell design.

Which manufacturer has the “best” clamshell phone?

There is no question that the Galaxy Z Flip4, Razr 2022 and Mix Fold 2 compete with each other. It will certainly be exciting to see which of the three manufacturers will convince buyers most of their clamshell phone. At least in terms of computing power, all three models should be on a par. Xiaomi and Motorola have already confirmed that their foldables will be equipped with the current Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1.
